Lady Gaga received the most nominations, being nominated for 13 awards (18 including nominations for her collaboration with Beyoncé for Video Phone). By being nominated for 13 awards, she became the most-nominated artist in VMA history for a single year, and subsequently became the first artist to receive two nominations for Video of the Year when both Bad Romance and Telephone were nominated. Eminem & Beyoncé, with 8 nominations, follow in second, while Florence and the Machine and B.o.B. are both up for 5 awards each, and 30 Seconds to Mars for 4 awards.
