The 2026 FIFA World Cup was the 23rd FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international men's soccer championship contested by the national teams of the member associations of FIFA. The tournament began on June 11, 2026, and concluded on July 19 with Spain winning the championship for the second time. It was jointly hosted by 16 cities—11 in the United States, 3 in Mexico, and 2 in Canada. The tournament was the first FIFA World Cup to be hosted by three countries and the first to include 48 teams, an expansion from the previous 32-team format.

The 2026 tournament was the second World Cup to be hosted by multiple nations, after the 2002 edition. Mexico became the first country to host the World Cup three times, having hosted the 1970 and 1986 tournaments. The United States previously hosted the World Cup in 1994, while it was Canada's first time hosting the tournament. The event returned to its traditional June–July schedule after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which was uniquely held in November and December to avoid Qatar's extreme summer heat. Canada, Mexico, and the United States qualified automatically as hosts, while Cape Verde, Curaçao, Jordan, and Uzbekistan made their World Cup debuts.

For the first time in the tournament's history, the top four teams from the FIFA Men's World Ranking at the time of the contest (Argentina, Spain, France, and England) advanced to the semifinals. Spain won the final against defending champion Argentina 1–0 after extra time, winning its second title and first since 2010. Spain also made history by being the first nation to become the reigning champion for both the men's and women's World Cups, and the first team to win the World Cup while conceding only one goal during the tournament. France captain Kylian Mbappé won his second consecutive Golden Boot for scoring the most goals (10) during the tournament. He became the all-time leading goalscorer at the World Cup and the first player to win multiple World Cup Golden Boots. The average number of goals per match in the tournament was 2.96, the highest since the 1970 edition.

Spain captain Rodri won the Golden Ball as the best player of the tournament. Unai Simón won the Golden Glove as the tournament's best goalkeeper, while Pau Cubarsí won the Young Player Award as the tournament's best young player. Nearly 7 million people attended matches during the tournament, surpassing the 1994 edition to set a new record for the highest attendance in World Cup history.The 2026 World Cup reportedly generated a record $15 billion in revenue.

250th Anniversary of America.

Washington DC July 04th, 2026 (Wikipedia). The United States Semiquincentennial was the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence. Festivities marked various events leading up to the 250th Independence Day, July 4, 2026.

Official festivities include commemorative coinage, UFC Freedom 250 at the White House, the Great American State Fair on the National Mall, Sail250, a Times Square Ball drop event, the Patriot Games, the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, and the world's largest-ever fireworks display (also held on the National Mall). Part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup was held across the United States, with matches in Philadelphia and Houston on the date of the semiquincentennial.

Official planning for the celebrations began in 2016 with the congressional, non-partisan United States Semiquincentennial Commission (America250). In 2025, federal resources were diverted to the president Donald Trump–aligned White House Task Force on Celebrating America's 250th Birthday (Freedom 250) to promote and plan new events. Celebrations began with the United States Army 250th Anniversary Parade on June 14, 2025, with "America250" events formally starting on July 3, 2025.Several official events were criticized for being politicized and lacking financial transparency. Many celebrations were low-attendance, with some being disrupted by a record-breaking heat wave.

Bucees Gas Station (Texas).

June 12th, 2026 (Wikipedia). Buc-ee's Holdings, Inc., Is an American chain of travel centers. It was created and is owned by Arch "Beaver" Aplin III, and is headquartered in Lake Jackson, Texas, a city south of Houston.The chain was founded in 1982 in Clute, next to Lake Jackson, and established its first travel center in Luling, south of Austin, Texas, in 2003. The company began expanding outside Texas in 2018 with a location in Baldwin County, Alabama, and has since opened stores in 10 states, with plans to open new locations in 10 more.

Buc-ee's has stated that its parking lots and driveways are not designed to accommodate 18-wheelers, and it has never permitted the trucks at its locations. This policy has angered some truck drivers. 

In 1982, founder Arch "Beaver" Aplin was a partner in the opening of a store in Clute, Texas, the first to bear the name "Buc-ee's". He formed the name Buc-ee's by combining his childhood nickname and the name of his Labrador Retriever, Buck; as well as the appeal of Ipana toothpaste's animated mascot, Bucky the beaver. Aplin was born in Southeast Texas. His father was born in Harrisonburg, northeast of Alexandria, Louisiana, where Arch's grandparents still lived, as of 2019. Buc-ee's eventually expanded and opened its first travel center in Luling in 2003.

In 2012, Buc-ee's opened its largest travel center in New Braunfels, Texas, on Interstate 35. The New Braunfels location was the largest convenience store in the world at 68,000 square feet (6,300 m²), but on June 26, 2023, the Sevierville, Tennessee, Buc-ee's opened, becoming the world's largest convenience store at 74,707 square feet (6,940.5 m²). The Sevierville store was surpassed in size by a new store in Luling, Texas, at 75,000 square feet (6967.7 m²) on June 10, 2024, replacing the original Luling travel center, which was 35,000 square feet (3251.6 m²). The New Braunfels location had the 2012 "Best Restroom in America" as named by Cintas.

After significant expansion in the Greater Houston area and central Texas, the first Buc-ee's in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex opened in Terrell, Texas, on June 22, 2015. The travel center is three miles west of the Shops at Terrell, a former Tanger Outlets center, on Interstate 20. In September 2015, it was announced that at least part of Buc-ee's corporate operations would move into office space in Pearland Town Center. The "partial headquarters" would house the company's legal and human resources departments. The space was ready by early 2016.

The second Buc-ee's in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, the 32nd location in Texas, opened on May 23, 2016. The store is in northern Fort Worth, across from Texas Motor Speedway.The third DFW location opened in Denton, Texas, on October 29, 2018. Buc-ee's established another store in Melissa, Texas, on February 5, 2018. The store is located off New Davis Road and U.S. Highway 75 and it opened on April 29, 2019.

Expansion outside Texas

The company began expanding outside of Texas in 2018 with the opening of a location in Baldwin County, Alabama, and has since opened stores in Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Colorado, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, Virginia, and Arizona, with new locations planned for North Carolina, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, Wisconsin, Idaho, and Oklahoma.

New York City, USA (American Airlines). On April 15, 2026, American Airlines marks a historic milestone: 100 years since its very first flight. To celebrate this anniversary, American is honoring the people and moments that shaped the airline and looks ahead to the next century of caring for people on life's journey.

On April 15, 1926, a DH-4 biplane took off from Chicago bound for St. Louis. This flight, carrying only mail, operated under Robertson Aircraft Corporation. Driven by the possibilities aviation could unlock for the country and the world, this flight set into motion the creation of one of the world’s most iconic airlines: American Airlines.

The Backstreet Boys are back at Sphere 2025 .

Las Vegas, Nevada, July 25th, 2025 (The New York Post). After two weekends at Las Vegas Sphere, Backstreet Boys are returning for three more ‘Into The Millennium’ residency shows from July 25-27 at the eye-popping concert venue.

As of now, last-minute tickets are available for their trio of Sin City gigs.At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats for any one concert th is weekend was $382 including fees on Vivid Seats. While that may sound expensive (Editor’s note: it is expensive), BSB fans are truly getting some serious bang for their buck at these Sphere shows.

Based on our findings at Set List FM, the quintet typically perform 25 songs at all shows including the 1999 chart-topping album “Millennium” in full. There’s a catch though — the record, which yielded the mega singles “Larger Than Life,” “I Want It That Way,” and “Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely”  isn’t performed in order. Yes, surprises are in store for fans that have every single word memorized.

In addition to revisiting the timeless record, Nick, AJ, Howie, Kevin and Brian also deliver classics from their self-titled 1996 “Backstreet Boys” like “As Long As You Love Me” and “Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)” as well as “More Than That” and “Shape of My Heart” from 2000’s “Black & Blue.”

Yet, what makes these ‘Into The Millennium’ shows so special are the gobsmacking images surrounding BSB. According to The Post, the group is “amplified by the Sphere’s 160,000 square-foot LED dome, the world’s highest-resolution screen.” Warm rays of orange light, a massive “larger-than-life” Millennium spaceship and an apparatus elevating the group high above the crowd are just a few of the highlights built into the ambitious product that looks more like an awe-inspiring night at the planetarium than a typical concert.

Ciudad de México a 25 de Mayo del 2025 (IPN). El Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) se vistió de fiesta con la participación de más de 30 mil atletas en la Carrera Once K 2025 con el lema "La Sustentabilidad es nuestra meta”, quienes corrieron este domingo en la justa deportiva que desde hace 17 años realiza el IPN y el Canal Once.

Desde temprana hora, miles de corredores se concentraron en los alrededores de la Unidad Profesional “Adolfo López Mateos” en Zacatenco, así como en el Casco de Santo Tomás, en espera del banderazo de salida en sus respectivas categorías de las ramas femenil y varonil: 5, 11 y 21 kilómetros para cruzar la meta en el Estadio “Wilfrido Massieu”, entre porras y el tradicional ¡Huélum!

Los ganadores de los 21 kilómetros femenil fueron: primer lugar, Kathya Mirell García Barrios; segundo, Nuvia Sosa Díaz y tercero, Estefany Rodríguez Velázquez. En la rama varonil: primer lugar, Gabriel Arroyo Onofre; segundo, Javier Vega Luna, y tercero, Adolfo Flores Matlalcuatzi.

Las tres primeras posiciones de la carrera de 11 kilómetros en la rama femenil fueron: primer lugar, Nadia Izquierdo Salazar; segundo, Erika Itzel Juárez Pavón, y tercero, Selene Martínez Ávila. En la rama varonil: primer Lugar, Brandon Hernández Bárcenas; segundo, Asunción Zacarías Aparicio y, tercero, Emmanuel Ángel Reyes Montes.

En la categoría femenil de 5 kilómetros, el primer lugar fue para Margarita Hernández Flores; el segundo, María Fernanda Salazar Hernández y el tercero, Lytzy Yoali Páez Gil. En la rama varonil triunfaron: primer lugar, Juan Pedro Delgadillo Galicia; segundo, Juan Pablo Espinoza Coronel, y tercero, Víctor Daniel Pérez Igari.

Por parte de las autoridades acudieron el secretario general del IPN, Mauricio Jasso; la secretaria de Investigación y Posgrado, Ana Lilia Coria Páez; la secretaria de Innovación e Integración Social, Yessica Gasca Castillo; el secretario de Servicios Educativos, Marco Antonio Sosa Palacios; el abogado general del Politécnico, Marx Yazalde Ortiz Correa; la titular de la Coordinación Politécnica para la Sustentabilidad, Mildred Castro Hernández; el director de Radio IPN, Enrique Anzures, así como la directora de Canal Once, Renata Turrent.

Al término de la fiesta deportiva, a los ganadores absolutos les entregaron un trofeo y un estímulo económico.

Ciudad de México a 12 de Mayo del 2025 (CINVESTAV). Es un evento público diseñado para presentar los programas de posgrado y la investigación que se realiza en el Área Biológica del Cinvestav. Este evento se organiza como una semana de “puertas abiertas” donde cada día se dedica a la difusión de un programa distinto. El objetivo es que los estudiantes participantes conozcan los programas de posgrado que eligen visitar, escuchen a los investigadores hablar sobre sus líneas de investigación y convivan con los profesores y estudiantes de los Departamentos de forma virtual.

En este evento participan todos los Departamentos del Área Biológica del Cinvestav de la Ciudad de México (Cinvestav-Zacatenco): Biología Celular, Bioquímica, Genética y Biología Molecular, Biomedicina Molecular, Biotecnología y Bioingeniería, , Toxicología, , Infectómica y Patogénesis Molecular, Farmacología, Fisiología, Biofísica y Neurociencias y Neurofarmacología y Terapéutica Experimental.
